Started Rough But Got Out Tough

JV Men's Basketball : Northumberland Indians vs. Chancellor Chargers

The Chancellor Chargers and Northumberland Indians. Thursday night was a game of excitement as the two teams went head to head in a blood boiling game. These JV teams showed that they both live and breathe basketball.

The Indians get the ball first but #23, of the Chargers, quickly turns over the ball passes it to #24 and makes a 2 point shot. But the Indians show no nerves as #11 makes an impressive lay up then slams into the wall with a Charger in a failed attempt to block the ball. The Indians would come back again with impressive skill from #23 while he rebounds a ball and quickly makes a 2pt shot. The Chargers don't sweat it when #10 makes a three point shot off balance from being hit by an Indian. Quarter One's score was Chargers 7 , Indians 10.

Within 15 seconds into the quarter #4 makes a field goal to start things off. #00 was a big component in the second quarter for the Chargers as he repeatedly slams ball from other team and makes impressive turn overs. The Indians definitely know how to keep their heads on a swivel. When a ball was lost #21 quickly found it rolling off the court and got the ball back from the Indians to score shortly after by #34. Quarter Two's score was Chargers 17 , Indians 18.

The fact that there were over 7 turnovers in this quarter from the Indians was insane. But the Chargers came into this quarter as a new team. #3 was an animal making 6 points and stealing balls mid throw. Chancellor made a huge come back to grab the lead. Quarter Three's score was Chargers 34 , Indians 28.

This was the last quarter but it was surprisingly slow. Most points came from Chancellor. But who had the best play of the game by far? #4 of Chargers had the ball and he was slowly walking up court. What he didn't know was that an Indian was behind him, #11. The Indian's #11 took the ball while #4 was dribbling and ran across the court. #4 was mad and ran out to #11. #11 jumped to make a shot and #4 bulldozed him slamming both of them to the ground ending in #11 missing the shot. #4 was obviously mad and sat out after but it was crazy to watch. The final score was Chargers 48 , Indians 36.

It was overall a great game to watch. Both teams showed skill and crazy tricks. Chancellor Chargers are definitely excited about their win. But Northumberland is waiting for their next game. Lets see how the teams do next time!
