No Stopping Chargers, Impressive Power in Big Win Against Cavaliers

Varsity Volleyball : Caroline Cavaliers vs. Chancellor Chargers

The Chancellor Chargers showcased their dominating power against the Caroline Cavaliers Wednesday night. Impressive performances by freshman Joselyn Jones and senior captain Brittany Margelos helped spark the Chargers offense to an easy sweep of the Cavaliers winning all three games and the match. There were some early miscues in the first game by Chancellor, but they smoothed it out as the night went on and just looked overall immensely impressive.

In Game 1, the Chargers were led by their team captain who was in the only black jersey in a sea of white as No. 10 Brittany Margelos cruised during the start and the end of the match. Her nine point drive started things, and she ended it with a 4 point drive making the Cavaliers look dazed on the court. A 25-17 match score doesn't show Chancellor's true dominance over the match however, as penalties and miscommunication allowed the Cavaliers to keep it somewhat close.

In Game 2, it was all Chargers. Showcasing permanent dominance throughout the entire game, the Chargers put on multiple drives easily shutting down the Cavaliers winning 25-15. Every time a Charger spiked the ball, especially senior Eryn Suttle, the immense pow could be heard throughout the entire school. Chancellor played cleaner and looked like the dominant team that they have shown to be.

Lastly there was Game 3, which again the Chargers showed no letting up and easily shut down the Cavaliers and walked briskly into the night with a win. Team captain Brittany Margelos saw much more playing time than the second game, continuing to support long drives against an exhausted Cavaliers squad. Caroline did show some power as the match winded down, but it was already too late as Chancellor cruised to a 25-14 game win. There was no stopping the lady Chargers tonight.

The Chargers will look to continue their success as they travel to King George tomorrow (September 29) and the Cavaliers will head home to play hosts to the Spotsylvania Knights.
