Chancellor JV Roundup - Sweeping and Being Swept

Lady Chargers Junior Varsity - Volleyball

In last Monday's match (September 26) the Chancellor Chargers beat the Riverbend Bears.

Last Wednesday (September 28) the Chancellor Chargers took advantage of multiple Caroline Cavaliers miscues on their way to easy sweep 2 - 0. Sophomore defensive specialist Gretchen Weber played very well with the serve, leading her team on multiple drives that distanced the games in Chancellor's favor.
In the first game, the Chargers took advantage of multiple drives and strong defense to always keep the Cavaliers on the move. The tone of the game was set early when Chancellor served and scored first. The final score was 25-21, with Chancellor holding on to win game 1.

In the second game, the Cavaliers looked winded as the Chargers kept charging on to an impressive win. With some quality spikes thrown in by No. 14 M'kayla Ainsworth, the Chargers continued to sweep the Cavaliers and show the strong potential they have been showing as of late. This helped set the stage for Varsity to also sweep the Cavaliers in their match.

The Chargers' third game of the week against King George was postponed due to rain, and will be played on October 12.Lady Chargers Junior Varsity - Field Hockey

Last Monday (September 26) the Chancellor Chargers faced the incredibly tough Eastern View Cyclones. The Cyclones never let the the Chargers sustain any drives at all putting together a dominant 4 - 0 win. The Cyclones No. 15 had a great night scoring two of her teams four goals.

The first half included multiple hard drives into Charger territory with plenty of great saves by sophomore Naiomi Nichols. Eastern View was able to jump to a 2-0 lead however, thanks to two goals by No. 15.

The second half seemed to mimic the first, with the Cyclones controlling the ball for almost the entire half. They increased their lead 3-0 within the first minute of the half as No. 10 drove through the Charger defense and successfully scored. Despite a last minute attempt to avoid the shutout with three minutes left in the game, the Chargers fell to a very tough opponent.

The Chargers' second game of the week against King George was postponed due to rain, and will be played on October 12.
