JV Men's Basketball: Courtland Cougars vs. Chancellor Chargers
Courtland Cougars and Chancellor Chargers, “rivalry madness” as some people call it. It was a grueling game at the beginning with the first half not looking so hot for Chancellor. But in the second half the Chargers came out and started causing a lot of tension! In the first quarter the Cougars were making a lot of really nice layups. Chancellor was weakened because of all the fouls they made. What had the Chargers frustrated is their fouls were right before they made a hoop. That had all the Changer fans scared too. There were great blocks by both teams though, when the ball was so close the the hoop. Cougars Number 40 made an impressive block while Number 00 on the Chancellor team was trying for a 3pt shot. But Chancellor’s Number 00 came back strong with an amazing block right next to the hoop when Number 23 was hoping to score later on. Final score after quarter one was Chancellor 9, Cougars 14.
Coming fast across the court number 11, on Chancellor, broke some ankles trying to make the first point of quarter two. But Number 44 stole the ball and made a 2pt shot right after. The quarter was slow with not a lot of action from both teams. But a lot of different Cougar players making 3pt shot left the score 17-27 at halftime.
Number 4 on Chancellor was definitely the "M.V.P." of quarter three. Not making one but two three point shots while being pushed from the Cougars players. Then making another layup while being flung out of the court! After all three fouls from the Cougars he's made every free throw! Bringing the Chargers in the lead by the end of quarter three.
In the last quarter the Chargers definitely showed their fans they have nothing to worry about. Showing no mercy the Chargers took the quarter with amazing block and rebounds from Number 00 and Number 10 making most of the shots. Ending the game with the final score of 59-44.
It was a great game to watch for both teams. Showing strengths and weaknesses from both teams. The teams definitely showed a lot of emotion on the court. Which can benefit the team or put the team at a disadvantage. Excited for the next game to see if the Courtland Cougars will get revenge and redemption!
