Chargers Charge To Postseason Win Over Cavaliers

Varsity Volleyball : Caroline Cavaliers vs. Chancellor Chargers

Thursday night The Chancellor Chargers played host to the Caroline Cavaliers, and dominated the entire game. The Chargers didn't allow a single successful kill, while recording thirty kills of their own, helping them outscore Caroline 75-25 and sweep the match-up.

Early on in the first match, the Chargers showed some shakiness in a quiet gym, allowing Caroline to benefit off of some miscues. Despite those miscues, they managed to regroup and build a great lead and take control of the match. Junior Sydney Collins helped with this early victory, recording seven successful kills out of eight attempts. At the end of the match, it was team captain Brittany Margelos leading her team with a drive of four points to close things up.

Match 2 was almost completely in the Chargers' favor, as they were very close to shutting out the Cavaliers. While up 6 - 2 in the match, an under-the-weather Senior Bella Conrad came onto the court to serve, and she didn't leave the serving line for the rest of the match. She led the Chargers to a 19 point drive with three aces of her own. The Chargers took match 2 cleanly, coming within one match of moving on in the tournament.

In the last match of the game, the Chargers showcased the same dominance they had shown all game. Junior Payton Clarke led the way with 13 successful spikes in the match, leading multiple players off the bench to a good win against the Cavaliers. Junior Jessica Dixon ended the game with an impressive spike that captured a win for the Chargers and helped them move on.
